in Oahu, HI
Architect
and design enterprise-class high availability network transport solutions for
the US Navy’s classified Naval Marine Core Intranet (NMCI). Designated Harris
Subject Matter Expert for NMCI Navy classified network transport
solutions. Provide technical engineering and architecture support of
the NMCI classified (SIPRNet) Cisco-centric IP routed/switched infrastructure
including successfully migrating various C2 network systems and environments
into NMCI. COOP SME for network transport operations.
Previous
experience as the lead engineer/technical requirements coordinator and
trainer/technical mentor for team of NOC techs responsible for implementing,
administering, upgrading, and monitoring 3000+ SIPRNet Cisco routers/switches
and NSA approved encryption devices supporting mission critical classified
and C2 data services for the USN.
Selected
Projects & Achievements:
· Integral in the architecture, engineering
development, and successful implementation of the first classified and
unclassified command and control (C2) dedicated network infrastructure
solutions within NMCI supporting regional COCOM and USN C2 Program of Record
systems (e.g., CENTRIXS, GCCS, TBMCS, JWICS) and C2 level of assurance
network capabilities for NMCI users.
· Designated SME for COOP network transport and
cyber hardening planning and execution
· Devised, engineered, and implemented first
default route injection/dynamic failover solution for NMCI classified NOC to
NOC and remote site to NOC network failover
· Credited with role in integrating and optimally
supporting the consolidation of classified NMCI NOC network transport
operations from 3 NOCs to a single NOC, while remotely managing numerous USN
base networks across 5 time zones.
· Developed the network solution to support
adaptation of DISA’s classified REL-A architecture into NMCI – first
enterprise scale adaptation of the capability within the USN
· Led engineering and transition efforts to
standardize the NOC SIPRNet premise/enclave boundary architecture across all
3 NMCI classified NOC/Server Farms
· Rapidly designed and planned the network
integration solution supporting the initial implementation of the
Cisco/Tandberg Video Control System within the NMCI classified intranet
· Planned and led the remote activation and
multi-NOC homing of routers/switches/TACLANEs and associated WAN links
supporting NMCI SIPRNet service at 85 sites; included the re-addressing of
1300 infrastructure IP addresses, throughout the CONUS and Hawaii
interconnected via an enterprise IPSEC Virtual Private Network (VPN) mesh
protected with type-1 HAIPE encryption
· Delivered technical processes, guidance,
training, and mentoring to junior technicians in the configuration,
upgrading, transitioning, management, and monitoring of a complex classified
enterprise IP routed/switch intranet, increased monthly problem resolution by
150%.

command-wide operational evaluation and readiness inspection for the sole
forward deployed USAF tactical communications unit in the Republic of
Korea. Singled out by MAJCOM commander for outstanding personal
contributions to rating.
· Commended for success in planning and leading the
upgrade of the entire USAF CITS (Combat Information Transport System) network
at Fairchild AFB with minimal customer impact 9 months ahead of schedule.
Migrated legacy MAN (FDDI) to a redesigned $3.2M Cisco based campus network
infrastructure (OC-12ATM LANE core/Gig-E access layer backbone)
· Designed and developed configurations to upgrade
200 access switches with Gig-E. Increased network bandwidth, improved core
services, access layer connectivity, security, and manageability.
· Recruited as a lead member of team designing and
implementing remote management and monitoring strategies for the PACAF NOSC
(Network Operations and Security Center); responsible for managing the USAF’s
largest Cisco-centric geographically spanned enterprise IP routed network
infrastructure including 11 major air bases and 8 small sites with 40,000
NIPR and SIPRNet hosts based throughout 7 Pacific Rim countries and
territories.
· Directly supervised 4 NOSC technicians and
provided technical leadership to 8 techs for 24x7 ops.
· Remotely migrated to NOSC centric control 60
geographically dispersed Cisco routed and switched network boundary nodes
